Violet Cloud Glass

Violet Cloud has violet trails on a clear glass base. Like most Cloud Glass, one surface is usually matt. Most if not all of the Violet Cloud Glass was made by the German Company August Walther & Sohne and sold under the ORALIT label.

The powder pot top and vase bottom right appear in the Walther 1934 catalogue. The two piece example at the bottom left of the page consists of a colander bowl resting on a plate. It is very unusual to find any glass colanders. This colander set is from the Walther 'Zentrum' glass suite.

As far as we known, Davidson did not make any Violet Cloud Glass.
