The sketch,
left, is a copy of the drawing Davidson submitted for this
design. It shows the cross section of a ribbed pattern and formed the basis of one of
their popular
designs, particularly in Pearline. |

Davidson's Hobnail pattern. Again this was one of Davidson's most famous
designs. The design as submitted to the Patent Office consisted of a
detailed drawing showing 4 of the 8 sided hobnails and the intricate
pattern in between. Like many other 19th century designs this one had the
appearance of cut glass. Over the years Davidson produced several
variations of this design. Other companies also produced their own
versions |
