The Davidson company made a number of vases in various Cloud Colours. Production of vases in Cloud Colours ceased during the Second World War. When Topaz-Briar was introduced in 1957, they only made two styles of vases in the new Topaz-Briar Cloud.

Davidson Pattern No:  1
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Blue, Green, Purple, Orange
Size(s):  5.5 inches high
Date Range:  1912 to 1942
Description:  This small vase was also sold as a Parfait (pattern No 1, 6 oz). The parfait first appears in their 1912 catalogue. It is not known when Davidson started selling it as a vase.

Davidson Pattern No:  34 VG and SVG
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Blue, Purple, Green, Orange
Size(s):  7 inches (34VG) 6 inches (34SVG)
Date Range:  1934  to 1942
Description:  The first mention of this vase is in the Pottery Gazette report for the 1934 British Industries fair. This vase is rare and so was probably not sold in large quantities.

Another variant of this design was the 34S/10. This was a 34VG in which the neck was made wider to take a No 10 Grid fitting.

Davidson Pattern No:  34 S Lamp Base
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Green
Size(s):  6 inches
Date Range:  1934  to 1936
Description:  This is a 34 SVG with a narrow neck which is flattened at the top. A chrome lamp fixing could then be held in place with three screws. A hole was drilled into the side near the base to take the electrical cable. Only very small quantities of this style were made over a 2 year period.

Davidson Pattern No:  34 SVF, VF
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Blue, Purple, Green, Orange
Size(s):  7 inches (34VF) 6 inches (34SVF)
Date Range:  1934  to 1942
Description:  This is another variation of the 34VG vase above. It is even more rare than the 34VG variety. Davidson even had problems remembering which one was which!

Davidson Pattern No:  50
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Blue, Purple, Green, Orange
Size(s): 8.5 inches
Date Range:  1928 to 1939 (?)
Description: A tall elegant vase. The vase does not appear in the 1940 catalogue which suggests Davidson may have stopped making it before then.

Davidson Pattern No:  51
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Blue, Purple, Green, Orange
Size(s): 7.25 inches
Date Range:  1928 to 1954?
Description: This is similar shape to Vase No 50.

Davidson Pattern No:  273,275,277
Known Cloud Colours:  Blue, Purple, Topaz-Briar (?)
Size(s):  10 inches (275), 16 inches (273) and 18 inches (277)
Date Range:  1912 to early 1960s
Description:  Although this vase first appears in the 1912 catalogue, very few pieces are known in Cloud Colours. This style of vase was made by a number of different manufacturers.

Davidson Pattern No:  278,278D, 278 Oval
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Green, Purple, Blue, Orange, Red (Ora)
Size(s):  7.5 inches high (278, 278 Oval), 6 inches high (278D)
Date Range:   1923 to 1937
Description:  This vase came in four known versions. The 278/10 had a round top and was fitted with a "Grid" support. The 278 Oval, shown far right, had the top compressed to form an oval rim and was fitted with a 5.5 inch oval Premier support The 278 round (below left) also had a 5.5 inch Premier support, but unsurprisingly, was round rather than oval. The 278D, shown in the leftmost photograph, had a turned over rim and was fitted with a 4.5 inch round Premier support. Why Davidson made the 278D is unclear as by turning over the rim, the band of decoration at the top of the vase is hidden.

The Grid support was originally made for the 10/1910 flower set and was only later used in other vases such as the 278 and 290/10. The Oval version does not appear to have been made in any Cloud Colours.

The Premier flower support was a registered design of the Stourbridge Glass company and was registered in 1923. This vase was introduced sometime after then.

Davidson Pattern No:  279, 279D
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Blue, Purple, Green, Orange, Red "ORA"
Size(s):  6, 8 and 10 inches
Date Range: 1928 to 1942
Description:  Commonly known as the "Column Vase", this came in three sizes and two styles. The "D" style has a turned over rim and was matt on the outside and polished in the inside. The side of the vase is divided into 9 segments which give it a column like appearance. A matt version of the 279 was also produced.

The 8 inch size was the most popular. Production of the 6 and 10 inch versions in Cloud Glass stopped in about 1938.

Davidson Pattern No:  Celery  283
Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Blue, Purple
Size(s):  7 inches
Date Range: 1912 to 1942
Description:  Not strictly speaking a vase, as Davidson sold it as a celery. As it is very similar in shape to pattern No 293, we have included it in this section. The celery was introduced sometime after 1912. Although this vase was produced in flint up until WWII, it was only made in Cloud Glass in the 1920s.

Davidson Pattern No:  284
Known Cloud Colours:  ??
Size(s):  9 inches

Known Cloud Colours:  Amber, Blue, Purple, Green, Orange
Size(s): 5.5 inches
Date Range:  1931 to 1936
